D’ORIGIN Advisory, Louisa Rahardjo and Veni Fitriani – Indonesian stocks jumped on Friday, tracking global rally on hopes of a US-China trade agreement with rupiah returned to below 15,000 while foreign investors purchased more than a trillion in equity market.
Jakarta composite soared 70.372 points (+1.206%) to 5,906.292 with LQ45 slid 1.72% at 941.590. Trading volume were 9.473 billion shares worth of Rp10.45 trillion including transaction of Rp2.27 trillion in negotiation market. Foreign investors purchased a net Rp1.01 trillion in regular market. 231 shares rose, while 184 declined, 128 unchanged and 129 untraded.
According to JISDOR, the currency rose 106 points (+0.70%) to 15,089. Spot rate soared 175 cents (+1.157%) at 14,950.00 against the USD.
Asian and European stocks soared on Friday following comments from U.S. President Donald Trump indicating potential progress in his trade negotiations with China.
In terms of data, there will be Markit manufacturing PMIs out in the euro zone.
Oil prices slid as crude output from Russia, the U.S. and Saudi Arabia in October while investors continue to focus on the impact of upcoming sanctions on Iran. Brent crude slipped 2 cents (-0.03%) to $72.87 per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell 13 cents (-0.20%) to $63.56 per barrel.
