D’ORIGIN Advisory, Louisa Rahardjo and Veni Fitriani, Indonesian stocks fell for a second day despite rally in regional markets with six sectors finished lower led by infrastructure stocks.
Jakarta composite slid 22.343 points (-0.372%) to 5,991.246 with LQ45 fell 0.67% at 954.165. Trading volume were 12.723 billion shares worth of Rp9.726 trillion including transaction of Rp2.32 trillion in negotiation market. Foreign investors sold a net Rp171.86 billion in regular market. 223 shares rose, while 210 declined, 124 unchanged and 125 untraded.
According to JISDOR, the currency slipped 31 points (-0.21%) to 14,535, while Spot rate slipped 15 points (-0.10%) at 14,525.00 against the USD.
Stocks in global markets were mostly higher on Wednesday amid hopes on trade talk ahead important meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping later this week. Meanwhile in Europe, concerns over Brexit continued.
Oil prices rose ahead of an OPEC meeting next week at which the producer club is expected to decide some form of supply cut to counter an emerging glut and following the shutdown of Buzzard oilfield. Brent crude climbed 46 cents (+0.76%) to $60.67 per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures added 41 cents (+0.80%) to $51.97 per barrel.
