D’ORIGIN – Louisa Rahardjo and Veni Fitriani, Indonesian stocks finished higher on Wednesday following a three-day losing streak while foreign net inflows continued and rupiah unchanged.

 

Jakarta composite index added 23.801 points (+0.375%) to 6,377.575 with LQ45 added 0.20% at 996.070. Trading volume were 15.615 billion shares worth of Rp8.991 trillion including transaction of Rp2.634 trillion in negotiation market. Foreign investors sold a net Rp5550.5 billion in regular market. 206 shares rose, while 206 declined, 173 unchanged, and 115 untraded.

 

According to JISDOR, the currency fell 18 points (-0.13%) to 14,269, while Spot rate stayed at 14,260.00 against the USD.

 

Rally in Asian and European markets eased with investors turned attention to England after U.K. lawmakers again rejected the terms of a deal for Britain to withdraw from the European Union while concerns over economic growth remained lingering

 

On the data front, Japan’s core machinery orders fell 5.4% in January from the previous month. The fall was larger than the median estimate of a 1.7% decline in a Reuters poll of economists.

 

Oil prices extended gains on Wednesday with Brent added 37 cents (+0.55%) at $67.04 per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate rose 53 cents (+0.93%) to $57.40 barrel.
