D’ORIGIN Advisory, Louisa Rahardjo – Indonesian stocks extended gains tracking positive lead from regional markets on Wednesday with foreign funds returned to the equity market.

 

Jakarta composite rose 29.709 points (+0.512%) to 5,830.526 while LQ45 rose 0.39% at 921.065. Trading volume were 4.782 billion shares worth of Rp3.097 including transaction of Rp400.46 billion in negotiation market. Foreign investors bought a net Rp104.59 billion in regular market during midday trade. 262 shares rose, while 119 declined, 126 unchanged and 161 untraded.

 

According to JISDOR, the currency climbed 28 points (+0.18%) to 15,178 while spot rate added 10 cents (+0.07%) at 15,185.00 against the USD.

 

Asian Stocks were higher after Wall Street gained overnight amid strong earnings in U.S. companies. Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s stock market is closed for a public holiday.

 

Oil prices rose after American Petroleum Institute data showed U.S. crude inventories fell by 2.1 million barrels last week, compared with analyst expectations for a build of 2.2 million barrels. Brent crude added 6 cents (+0.07%) at $81.47 per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures added 14 cents (+0.19%) at $72.06 per barrel.
