Indonesia’s stocks rose on Tuesday alongside with its currency while corporate earnings remain in focus.

Shares of mini banks, such as BKSW, BACA, BBYB and BABP dominates the list of top gainers in today’s trading. Speculation surrounding digitalization of Indonesian small banks has been behind the wild swings in their stock price since early this year.

Jakarta composite added 34.028 points (+0.558%) to 6,130.571 with LQ45 jumped 1.00% to 838.537. There were 26.506 billion shares traded worth of Rp13.352 trillion, including transaction of Rp1.299 trillion in negotiation market. Foreign investors purchased a net Rp190.11 billion in regular market. 244 shares rose while 269 declined and 137 unchanged.

The government raised Rp34 trillion in the auction of 7 series of state securities today, above indicative target of Rp33 trillion. Total incoming bids reached Rp107.784 trillion

HRUM continues to take advantage of rising nickel commodity prices. On July 30, 2021, HRUM through its subsidiary, PT Tanito Harum Nickel, purchased 256,187 new shares or 14.7% of the total shares issued by PT Infei Metal Industry, in addition to the purchase of 259,603 new shares or 24.5% of the total shares issued by IMI in February.

According to JISDOR released Tuesday afternoon, Rupiah climbed 94 points (+0.65%) to 14,362 while spot rate strengthened 80 points (+0.55%) at 14,340.

Asian stocks were lower while Stocks in Europe extended a record advance on Tuesday as positive earnings from some of the region’s biggest companies helped offset fresh concerns about China’s clampdown on the technology sector.

The Reserve Bank of Australia kept the cash rate unchanged at a record low of 0.1% during its August meeting, as widely expected. Policymakers also held its yield curve control program at the April 2024 bond maturity of 10 bps; and will continue the bond-buying programme at the rate of $5 billion a week until early September and then $4 billion a week until at least mid-November.

Major cryptocurrencies are trading mixed with Bitcoin down nearly 2%. Gold prices were subdued ahead of monthly U.S. jobs data.

Crude oil prices reversed course after an early bounce on Tuesday, as concerns over coronavirus curbs combined with slowing factory activity in key markets weighed on sentiment. Brent crude rose 39 cents (+0.54%) at $73.28 per barrel and U.S WTI crude climbed 37 cents (+0.52%) at $71.63 barrel.
