D’ORIGIN – Louisa Rahardjo and Veni Fitriani, Indonesian stocks resumed gains following regional market’s lead with capital inflows continued. All but consumer sectors picked up on Wednesday morning.
Jakarta composite index rose 27.345 points (+0.437%) to 6,290.192 while LQ45 added 0.42% at 1,001.66. Trading volume were 7.958 billion shares worth of Rp4.533 trillion including transaction of Rp787.83 billion in negotiation market. Foreign investors purchased a net Rp222.92 billion in regular market during midday trade. 258 shares rose, while 152 declined, 131 unchanged and 150 untraded.
According to JISDOR, the currency slipped 89 points (-0.63%) to 14,120, while Spot rate slipped 30 points (-0.21%) to 14,170.00 against the USD.
Asian stocks rallied on Wednesday amid optimism that U.S. and China would reach a trade deal as the negotiations were extended into an unscheduled third day.
Oil prices rose again with Brent added 80 cents (+1.36%) to $59.52 per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude climbed 77 cents (+1.55%) to $50.55 per barrel.
