D’ORIGIN – Louisa Rahardjo and Veni Fitriani, Indonesian stocks were lower on Monday morning dragged by eight sectors while agriculture shares soared more than 1%.
Jakarta composite index slipped 19.409 points (-0.311%) to 6,230.856 while LQ45 fell 0.47% at 986.437. There were 7.898 billion shares traded worth of Rp2.736 trillion, including transaction of Rp365.61 billion in negotiation market. Foreign investors bought a net Rp39.61 billion in regular market during midday trade. 175 shares rose, while 126 declined, 126 unchanged, and 185 untraded.
According to JISDOR, rupiah retreated 42 points (-0.29%) at 14,346 while Spot slipped 20 points (-0.14%) at 14,340 against the USD.
Stocks in Asia were mixed on Monday with investors await a U.S. Federal Reserve meeting later in the week.
Data released last Friday showed China’s industrial output growth in May slowing to a more than 17-year low, widely below expectations, widely below expectations. That figure came in at 5%, as compared to expectations of a 5.5% growth from a year earlier.
Oil prices rose amid lingering tension in Middles East. Brent rose 16 cents (+0.26%) at $62.18 per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate added 7 cents (+0.13%) to $52.58 a barrel.
