*Indonesian stocks ends higher despite losses in global markets *

Indonesian stocks snapped early losses, gaining for a fifth consecutive day, while foreign outflows continued.
Jakarta composite added 8.99 points (+0.135%) to 6,652.922. LQ45 fell 0.40% to 948.61. There were 27.58 billion shares traded worth of Rp13.119 trillion, including transaction of Rp1.852 trillion in negotiation market. 252 shares rose while 260 declined and 164 unchanged. Foreign investors sold a net Rp927.14 billion in regular market.
Retail sales in Indonesia surged by 6.5% year-on-year in October of 2021, rebounding sharply from a 2.2% drop a month earlier.
According to JISDOR released Friday afternoon, Rupiah declined 27 points (-0.19%) at 14,378 while spot rate slipped 20 points (-0.14%) at 14,370.
Asian and European stocks retreated as omicron was back in the spotlight with investors gauging its risk to the economic recovery after a study found it is 4.2 times more transmissible than the delta variant in its early stages.
The People’s Bank of China raised its foreign currency reserve requirement ratio for the second time in 2021 after the yuan climbed to the highest since 2018, prompting the offshore yuan to decline the most since July 2021.
On Thursday, ratings agency Fitch downgraded property developers China Evergrande Group and Kaisa Group to “restricted default” status, saying they had defaulted on offshore bonds, while a source said that Kaisa had started work on restructuring its $12 billion offshore debt.
On the Europe data front, German November consumer prices rose at the fastest pace since June 1992. Consumer prices rose 5.2% on year measured by national standards, and they rose 6.0% on year by European Union-harmonized standards, both in line with forecasts.
Meanwhile, U.K. third quarter GDP rose marginally in October, climbing just 0.1% compared with the expected 0.4% gain, and is still 0.5% below its pre-pandemic peak.
Investors also keeping an eye on U.S. data, including the consumer price index, due later in the day.
Oil prices were mixed with Brent crude futures slipped 15 cents (-0.20%) to $74.27 and U.S WTI added 3 cents (+0.04%) at $70.98 a barrel.
