D’ORIGIN Advisory, Louisa Rahardjo and Veni Fitriani – Indonesian stocks finished slightly lower on Tuesday with nearly a trillion foreign outflows. Meanwhile, five sectors ended higher despite lingering concerns over slowing economic within the country.
Jakarta composite index slipped 7.438 points (-0.122%) to 6,081.867 with LQ45 slipped 0.04% at 970.735. Trading volume were 14.548 billion shares worth of Rp10.726 trillion including transaction of Rp4.54 trillion in negotiation market. Foreign investors sold a net Rp947.46 billion in regular market. 174 shares rose, while 240 declined, 145 unchanged and 129 untraded.
According to JISDOR, the currency recovered 94 points (+0.64%) to 14,523, while Spot rate added 75 points (+0.52%) to 14,495.00 against the USD.
Stocks in Asia and Europe were lower on Tuesday following an overnight sell-off on Wall Street amid concerns over global economy slowdown.
Meanwhile, investors watch closely Federal Reserve’s meeting where the Fed is widely expected to hike its benchmark overnight lending rate for a fourth and final time of 2018 on Wednesday.
In Europe, Business Confidence in Germany decreased to 101 Index Points in December from 102 Index Points in November of 2018.
Oil prices continued slumping with Brent fell $2.01 (-3.37%) to $57.60 per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude dipped $1.74 cents (-3.49%) to $48.14 per barrel.
