D’ORIGIN – Louisa Rahardjo and Veni Fitriani, Indonesian stocks traded lower with investors watched for a fresh batch of earnings release while profit taking and weaker rupiah also contributed in weighing down index. Trading activities will pause tomorrow for Lunar New Year.
Jakarta composite index fell 57.187 points (-0.875%) to 6,481.451 with LQ45 tumbled 1.69% at 1,024.045. Trading volume were 12.069 billion shares worth of Rp8.144 trillion including transaction of Rp1.165 trillion in negotiation market. Foreign investors sold a net Rp476.09 billion in regular market. 233 shares rose, while 207 declined, 133 unchanged and 125 untraded.
According to JISDOR, the currency added 2 points (+0.01%) to 13,976, while Spot rate fell 15 points (-0.11%) to 13,950.00 against the USD.
Stocks in Asia and Europe were mixed on Monday with most Asian markets are shut for Lunar New Year.
On currency markets, the U.S. dollar continued rising following better than expected U.S. jobs report.
Oil prices were mixed on Monday following 3% gains in the following session. Brent added 41 cents (+0.65%) at $63.16 per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude added 14 cents (+0.25%) to $55.40 per barrel.
