D’ORIGIN – Louisa Rahardjo and Veni Fitriani, Indonesian stocks finished slightly lower on Monday as seven sectors amid foreign outflows while mining and agriculture stocks surged more than 1% with investors continued to digest another release of corporate earnings.

 

Jakarta composite index slipped 11.464 points (-0.176%) to 6,488.42 with LQ45 slipped 0.04% at 1,017.843. Trading volume were 12.472 billion shares worth of Rp7.289 trillion including transaction of Rp1.32 trillion in negotiation market. Foreign investors sold a net Rp566.59 billion in regular market. 202 shares rose, while 239 declined, 149 unchanged, and 111 untraded.

 

According to JISDOR, the currency fell 38 points (-0.27%) to 14,149, while Spot rate slipped 15 points (-0.11%) to 14,125.00 against the USD.

 

Asian and European stocks with Chinese stocks soared along with the yuan advanced after Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. and China are in the final stage to a trade deal that may end American tariffs.

 

Meanwhile in Europe, investors are watching whether the U.K. will leave the European Union with or without a deal by the March 29 deadline.

 

Oil prices also climbed on trade hopes and after Reuters survey revealed Supply from the OPEC fell to a four-year low in February. Brent added 54 cents (+0.83%) at $65.51 per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate rose 42 cents (+0.75%) to $56.22 per barrel.
