D’ORIGIN Advisory, Louisa Rahardjo dan Veni Fitriani – Indonesian stocks climbed amid rally in global stocks with capital inflows from overseas were more than one and a half trillion rupiah. Seven sector rose while consumer stocks were under pressure, losing as much as 1.56% on the final day of October.
Jakarta composite added 42.55 points (+0.735%) to 5,831.65 with LQ45 rose 0.98% at 922.715. Trading volume were 10.98 billion shares worth of Rp9.399 trillion including transaction of Rp2.23 trillion in negotiation market. Foreign investors purchased a net Rp1.25 trillion in regular market. 220 shares rose, while 198 declined, 125 unchanged and 129 untraded.
According to JISDOR, the currency added 10 points (+0.07%) to 15,227 while spot rate climbed 22 cents (+0.14%) at 15,200.00 against the USD.
Global stocks rallied on Wednesday following a rebound on Wall Street despite lower-than-expected manufacturing growth in China. Later in the day, there will be inflation and unemployment numbers out in the euro zone.
China’s official manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index for October was 50.2, lower than the 50.6 analysts expected in a Reuters poll and down from 50.8 in September. The official PMI reading for October was the lowest since July 2016
On central bank news, The Bank of Japan kept its ultra-easy monetary policy in place -0.1% and maintained the target for the 10-year Japanese government bond yield at around zero as concerns grow about the impact of U.S.-China trade tensions on the Japanese economy.
Oil prices rose for the first time in three days despite lingering concerns over global risks. Brent crude climbed 76 cents (+1.00%) at $76.67 per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures added 55 cents (+0.83%) to $66.73 per barrel.
