Indonesian stocks retreated in low volatility on Friday as investors watch closely any guidance from Jerome Powell on when the central bank will start scaling back on asset purchases at the Jackson Hole symposium.

Jakarta composite fell 16.714 points (-0.276%) to 6,041.366 while LQ45 declined 0.53% to 845.711. There were 19.308 billion shares traded worth of Rp10.195 trillion, including transaction of Rp1.493 billion in negotiation market. Foreign investors purchased a net Rp111.69 billion in regular market. 184 shares rose while 320 declined and 145 unchanged.

An OJK official said that Fundraising in the Indonesian capital market until August 24, 2021 has reached a value of Rp136.9 trillion, an increase of 199% from the same period in 2020, with 28 new issuers have conducted IPO.

Brent crude rose $1.05 (+1.51%) at $72.14 per barrel and U.S WTI rose $1.16 (+1.72%) at $68.58 barrel.
