D’ORIGIN Advisory, Louisa Rahardjo and Veni Fitriani – Indonesian stocks rose on Thursday amid rebounds in regional markets and as window dressing activities began.

 

Jakarta composite index rose 62.793 points (+1.025%) to 6,190.643 with LQ45 added 0.81% at 987.999. Trading volume were 21.782 billion shares worth of Rp9.83 trillion including transaction of Rp5.08 trillion in negotiation market. Foreign investors purchased a net Rp187.48 billion in regular market. 294 shares rose, while 139 declined, 144 unchanged and 113 untraded.

 

According to JISDOR, the currency added 39 points (+0.27%) to 14,563, while Spot rate added 15 points (+0.1%) to 14,555.00 against the USD.

 

Asian stocks soared while Europeans were mixed following major gains in Wall Street overnights with all three US major indexes jumped around 5% which was the biggest rally since 2009.

 

In the meantime, the mainland Chinese markets ended lower on the back of the trading suspension of Sinopec.

 

On Thursday, there will be US Senate convene and possibly vote on a bill to end the partial government shutdown.

 

In energy markets, oil prices fell after soaring at least 7.9% in the previous session. Brent fell 70 cents (-1.29%) to $53.77 per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude declined 48 cents (-1.44%) to $45.78 per barrel.
