Jakarta composite fell 19.74 points (-0.321%) to 6,133.32 with LQ45 fell 0.66% at 979.452. Trading volume were 10.007 billion shares worth of Rp8.482 trillion including transaction of Rp2.2 trillion in negotiation market. Foreign investors sold a net Rp500.57 billion in regular market. 182 shares rose, while 256 declined, 130 unchanged and 114 untraded.
According to JISDOR, the currency slipped 90 points (-0.63%) to 14,383, while Spot rate retreated 105 points (-0.74%) at 14,390.00 against the USD.
Stocks in Asia and Europe dropped on Wednesday after Wall Street tumbled overnight as trade turmoil remained lingering although U.S. equity futures rose amid on-going cease-fire on tariffs between two countries. Meanwhile, U.S. stock markets closed on Wednesday to mark the day of mourning for President George H. W. Bush.
Oil prices were pressured by a weekly report from the American Petroleum Institute that said U.S. crude inventories rose by 5.4 million barrels in the week to Nov. 30, to 448 million barrels, in a sign that U.S. oil markets are in a growing glut. Brent crude fell 57 cents (-0.92%) to $61.51 per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures slipped 39 cents (-0.73%) to $52.86 per barrel.
