Indonesian stocks picked up on Thursday in spite of declines in global markets. Eight sectors rose with property stocks soared as much as 2.68%.

 

Jakarta composite index rose 39.835 points (+0.644%) to 6,221.01 while LQ45 added 0.66% at 990.88. Trading volume were 10.841 billion shares worth of Rp7.567 trillion including transaction of Rp1.71 trillion in negotiation market. Foreign investors purchased a net Rp74.06 billion in regular market. 242 shares rose, while 188 declined, 141 unchanged and 119 untraded.

 

Indonesian government absorbed Rp28.25 trillion from a total incoming bids of Rp41.35 trillion in a bond auction today.

 

According to JISDOR, the currency slipped 9 points (-0.06%) to 14,474, while Spot rate added 40 points (+0.28%) to 14,405.00 against the USD.

 

Most Asian and European stocks extended declines along with US futures on Thursday as worries over economic growth remained lingering.

 

Stateside, Congress and the White House failed to reach a funding deal Wednesday to end the partial government shutdown.

 

Oil prices were lower after soaring in overnight session. Brent slipped 18 cents (-0.33%) to $54.73 per barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude fell 53 cents (-1.14%) to $46.01 per barrel.
